What is your idea of happiness?
Living freely without any fear.
What is your favorite four letter word?
Kind. Free..... Play.... It’s too hard to pick one!
What is your all-time favorite vacation location?
Traveling somewhere new.... no agenda, no budget, no time restraints... a girl can dream, right?
If you could live anywhere but where you do now, where would that be?
I lived in Italy a few years ago and love the idea of moving back to Europe... at least for a few years. But it’s hard to say because we recently moved to Cayucos and I never want to leave!
What natural talent would you like to be gifted with?
To be fluent in every language- read, write, speak....
What is your favorite food?
P O T A T O E S. Any and every way: fried, baked, sautéed, mashed, pureed, roasted...
What is your favorite drink?
What is your all-time favorite restaurant and why?
Il Monastero!! I lived in Viterbo, Italy for a year and it is the most incredible place. They offer communal table seating (love), incredible service, Lambrusco on tap in “litro” and “mezzo litro”, and their famous “pizza su due piatti” or “pizza on two plates”. It’s a magical place!
What is your favorite food memory?
Making breakfast with my grandpa at their house in Mission Viejo. We’d make fresh pressed juice from the oranges we picked off their tree in the backyard, and he would make pancakes in the shapes of turtles with chocolate chips in them. Grandma usually does the cooking (she’s Italian and hardwired to feed/overfeed everyone) but breakfast is and was always grandpa’s time to shine.
What is your greatest fear?
I’ve recently discovered heights to be a pretty solid fear. Never used to be, but I went rock climbing in Joshua Tree a while back and learned that it is a bit of an issue. I should probably go again soon!
What do you appreciate most in your friends?
Laughter. Lots and lots of laughter. Authenticity, honesty, support, loyalty, and love. So much love!
Who are your real life heroes or heroines?
My Grandparents, Don & Shirley Sturgeon. They have “adopted” all of my friends as their own, and are more social than anyone I know. Both of them are in their 80’s and neither of them can sit still, so I joke that they are “solar powered” because they are always busy doing something or going somewhere. Grandpa is always down to help you with a project, puzzle, or beat you in a game of pool or horseshoes, and Grandma has a pantry overflowing with snacks and will make you feel like you’ve known her your entire life. They are the most incredible, magnetic and wonderful people in the world.
Who are your fictional heroes or heroines?
Cat in the Hat! I love the easygoing message of marching to the beat of your own drum, never being afraid to try something new and encouraging others. It’s pretty philosophical and I love that it’s a children's book.
What four words describe your personality?
Creative. Adventurous. Optimistic. Kind.
What is your motto?
Every morning my alarm goes off with the title: “Smile, you made it.”
Cultivate the habit of being grateful. Your attitude is the difference between an ordeal and an adventure. If you know you can do better, then do better. Be brave and be kind!
